Notes: Patrician after Caesar's dictatorship. Antonius Merenda may be Patrician, the later Antonii were not.
The family of the three Gordiani is based on Historia Augusta, which many scholars (incl Ronald Syme) believe is false. Thus Gordian I's parents, his wife Fabia Orestilla ,
his daughter's name Maecia Faustina (should probably be Antonia) and the daughter's husband the consular Iunius Balbus Iunius may all be inventions to falsely glorify his family.

Changes 2014.01.18 Header restructured, major rework of stemma  plus many updates. The family of Antonius Zeno and Antonius Polemo have been split out into a separate stemma.
2015.12.26 corrected Gordianus III, who was son of Gordianus II's sister.
2021.09.09 Minor update. New header. Deleted 1st marriage of Antonia RE110 to P. Lentulus Spinther (no evidence). Put C. Antonius Hybrida's cognomen into parenthesis,
since there is no evidence of use by contemporaries. Tansey argues that Antonia RE109 may in fact be RE111 the daughter of Creticus. Added L. Antonius or Annius,
expelled 307 BC. Added references to Danton, Moore and Tansey.
2021.11.13 Major update with full literature list. The main families have only minor changes.
2021.11.15 New article from 2017 by Eck and Pangerl moves Q. Antonius Isauricus' suffect consulate from 140 to either 156 or 157. (thanks to Sergey Dyakonov for pointing this out)
