Notes: On coins and inscriptions the name is almost always written Aquillius, but in manuscripts generally with a single L.
 Two of the Aquillii are mentioned among the Roman nobles who conspired to bring back the Tarquins (Liv. ii. 4); probably unhistorical.
C. Aquillius (Tuscus) is mentioned as patrician consul in  487BC.  However all later Aquillii were plebeian, though they claimed descent (falsely?)., cf use of cognomen Florus.
