Notes: There are many uncertainties in the stemma, both republican and imperial, due to the numerous family members.  A few are
1 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Augur may not be son of the pr 59, but of the admiral pr c.36 BC.
2 Cossus Cornelius Lentulus cos 1 BC may be brother of cos 2 and of cos 10. Unlikely.
3 L. Cornelius Lentulus cos 199 is probably elder than his brother cos 201, since he held proconsular imperium in Spain 206-200 and thus could not be elected consul.
Since he is the eldest he may be the cur aed of 209, if so his aed cur of 205 should go to his younger brother Publius pr in 203.
4 There is confusion in the use of the agnomen Caudinus by the sons of the consuls 237 and 236 BC
5 The brothers Cn. Lentulus cos 18 BC and L. Lentulus cos 3 BC could be sons of L. Cornelius Lentulus Cruscellio RE219.
6 An alternative stemma for the Lentuli Marcellini according to Scheid, Settipani and Etcheto is provided below the main stemma.
Literature Canas, Miguel: "Scribonia caesaris et le Stemma des Scribonii Libones" in Revue de philologie, de littérature et d'histoire anciennes 2009/2 (Tome LXXXIII), p. 183-210
discusses the Marcellini and who was Scribonia's husband.
Cebeillac: Quaestores Principis (1972) p.11-12 (§I Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Augur cos 14 BC)
Cobos Fajardo, Antonio and  Tremoleda Trilla, Joaquim: "El cónsul Cn. Léntulo Augur y las inversiones de la aristocracia romana", in Athenaeum, 91 (2003), p. 29-52
Corbier: Aerarium (1974) p.39-43 (§7 P. Cornelius Lentulus Scipio cos suff 24 AD)
Crook: Consilium Principis (1955) p.160-161 (§116 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Augur cos 14 BC, §117 Cossus Cornelius Lentulus cos 1 BC, §118 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus cos 26 AD, §119 Cornelius Lupus cos 42 AD)
Eck: Statthalter der germanischen Provinzen (1985) p.8-9 (§3 Cossus Cornelius Lentulus cos ord 25), p.10-12 (§4 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus cos 26)
Etcheto, Henri: "La parenté de Cornelia Scriboniae filia et le tombeau des Scipions", in Revue des Etudes Anciennes, T. 110, 2008, p.117-125. Cornelia, wife of Paullus Aemilius Lepidus cos 34, is assumed sister
of L. Lentulus cos 18 BC and not a sister of P. Cornelius Scipio cos 16 BC. L. Lentulus cos 18 BC becomes a son of Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Marcellinus cos 56 BC and not of the pr 44 (son of Niger).
This alternative is shown on a revised stemma at bottom.
Fitz: Pannonien (1995) p.58-61 (§8 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus cos 14 BC), p.184 (§74 P. Cornelius Lentulus Scipio cos suff 24 AD)
Franke: Legionslegaten (1991) p.183-184 (§80 P. Cornelius Lentulus Scipio cos suff 24 AD)
Hildebrandt: Vigintivirat (2006) p.133-134 (§23 L. Cornelius Lentulus cos 3 BC), p.135 (§25 Cossus Cornelius Lentulus cos 1 BC)
Hinard: Proscriptions (1985) p.459-460 (§47 L. Cornelius Lentulus Cruscellio RE219), p.460-461 (§75 P. Cornelius Lentulus Spinther RE239)
Horsefall, Nicholas: "Fast, Cons, Cap, fr, XXXIX: A Problematic Grandfather", in ZPE Bd. 65 (1986), p. 84 confirms that the inscription of L. Cornelius Lentulus Spinther cos 57 does not give his grandfather as
Cnaeus (which Degrassi claimed in Fast. Cons. Cap.) thus leaving it likely that he is the q of c.74 who is P.f.L.n. and thus elder brother of Crus cos 49 (as Sumner believed).
Kajava,M. " ", in Helmantica, vol. 46, 1995, p.243-250 argues that Cosconia Gallitta was the dt of a Cornelius Lentulus Maluginensis, who in turn was adopted by a Cosconius.
PIR v.2 Pars 2 (1936) stemmata opposite p.328
Raepsaet-Charlier: PFOS (1987) stemma VII (Cossus Cornelius Lentulus C1380), XXIII (Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Maluginensis C1393; she P. Scipio Orestinus (C1441) and Cornelia Orestina (FOS285)
children of P. Cornelius Lentulus Scipio cos 2 AD, not followed here), XXXVIII (Ser. Cornelius Scipio Salvidienus Orfitus cos 51 AD)
Ryan, F.X.: "The Praetorship of P. Cornelius Lentulus Spinther", in Hermes, 128. Bd., 2000, p. 246-247 confirms he was praetor in 60 BC.
Salomies: Nomenclature (1992) p.50 on D. Iunius Silanus Gaetulicus
Scheid: Freres Arvales (1975) p.65-74 (§10 Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Augur cos 14 BC)
Scheid John: "Scribonia Caesaris et les Cornelii Lentuli". In: Bulletin de correspondance hellénique. Volume 100, livraison 1, 1976. pp. 485-491. has a very different proposal for stemma., see bottom of this stemma.
However, his stemma breaks down since Scribonia's 2ns husband was a consular, however RE232 was never consul (the cos suff of 35 BC was a P. Dolabella). Etcheto's proposal corrects this.
Settipani: Continuite (2000) p.64 (stemma of the republican Lentuli, he makes the cos 130 BC the son of Lupus cos 156; and Lentulus pr 137 (RE1729) the son of cos 146 and father of cos 97, however this last proposal seems unlikely
since the pr 137 would be born in 177 BC and his father the cos 146 consul at a for a Lentulus the relatively late age of at least 55.), p.85-89 (Ser. Cornelius Lentulus Cethegus cos 24 AD, his origin and descendents)
Shackleton Bailey, D.R.: "Two Studies in Roman Nomenclature", in American Classical Studies Number 3, The American Philological Association 1976, p.29-32 + 72
on possible adoptive father of cos 44 BC: candidates are Cn.Cornelius Lentulus Vatia (RE241) and P.Cornelius Lentulus Marcellinus q 48 (RE232)
p.112-114 (P. Cornelius Marcelli f. Lentulus RE230,  Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Clodianus cos 72 BC, his son pr 59, P. Cornelius Lentulus Spinther RE239, Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Vatia RE241)
Sumner: Orators (1973) p.92-93, 140-144 with stemma p.143 of republican Lentuli
Sumner, G.V.: "The Family Connections of L. Aelius Seianus", in Phoenix vol.19, 1965, p.134-139 argues that the cos 14 BC (Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Augur) is the father of coss. 2 and 10 AD.
Also that Cosconia Galitta is not the ister of coss. 2 AD and 10 AD, but of the son of cos 10, the Flamen Dialis. She was thus not married to L. Seius Strabo. I have not followed this.
Suolahti, Jaakko: Roman Censors (1963) p.249-251 (argyes that the missing patrician censor of 283 BC could be Ser. Cornelius Lentulus cos 303; possible but no evidence), p.284-285 (L. Cornelius Lentulus Caudinus cens 236),
p.390-392 (L. Cornelius Lentulus Lupus cens 147), p.458-460 (Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Clodianus cens 70 BC),
Syme: Augustan Aristocracy (1986) p.244-254 (Chapter XVIII The Last Scipiones), p.284-299 (chapter XXI Lentulus the Augur; Syme does not support Lentulus Augur cos 14 BC as father of coss 2 and 10 AD), stemma XXI and XXII (The Last Lentuli)
Taylor: Voting Districts (1960/2013) p.206 (Cn. Cornelius Cn.f. trib. Pal, tr mil 89), p.208 (L. Cornelius Lentulus Crus cos 49, possibly in tribus Palatina)
p.208 An inscription (CIL VI-16251) mentions a P. Cornelius P.f. Lentulus as belonging to tribus Pollia. However his very small grave makes it unlikely that he belonged to the patrican Lentuli.
Thomasson: Fasti Africani (1996) p.25-26 (L. Cornelius Lentulus cos 3 BC, Thomasson doubts that he was procos Africa), p.26 (Cossus Cornelius Lentulus cos ord 1 BC), p.32 (Ser. Cornelius Cethegus cos ord 24),
p.39-40 (Ser. Cornelius (Scipio) Salvidienus Orfitus cos 51 AD)
Thomasson: SPQR (1975) p.34 (Ser. Cornelius (Scipio) Salvidienus Orfitus cos 51 AD)
Tortotiello: Fasti Consolari di Claudio (2004) p.488-489 (§20 Cornelius Lupus cos suff 42 AD), p.489-492 (§21 Ser. Cornelius (Scipio) Salvidienus Orfitus cos ord 51 AD, who she prefers to be the son of
a Ser. Salvidienus Orfitus and grandson of Orfitus and Vistilia),
Vogel-Weidemann: Statthalter (1982) p.292-296 (§40 P. Cornelius Lentulus Scipio cos suff 24 AD), p.199-205 (§26 Ser. Cornelius (Scipio) Salvidienus Orfitus cos ord 51 AD)
