Notes: The Marcii claimed descent from King Ancus Marcius and Coriolanus. However they were plebeians, though M.Marcius became Rex Sacrorum, a priesthood normally reserved for Patricians.
However possibly due to their legendary descent the Marcii claimed to be something  close to Patrician status, at least above plebeian.

Ryan, F.X.: "The Aedileship and Praetorship of Q. Marcius Crispus", in Rheinisches Museum für Philologie, Neue Folge, 140. Bd., 1997, pp. 190-192, confirms he was praetor, but aedileship is not proven.
Salomies, Olli: "Zu den Fasti consulares von Tauromenium", in ZPE, Bd. 86, 1991, pp. 187-192 discusses who the cos suff of 36 Marcius is. He is now known to be a Quintus and possibly a L.f.
If so the most likely candidate is Q.Marcius Philippus RE83, possibly younger brother to cos 38.
Settipani: Continuite (2000) p.286-287 with stemma of Marcius Barea Soranus. He proposes that the cos 52 (whose praenomen is not attested) is the nephew of the cos 34 and that M.Septicius Q.f.C.n.C. et Gemini Artori Sura (S412
is the brother of Q.Marcius Barea Sura (M219), who has the same filiation. Stemma in PIR2-S p.153 disagrees and assumes that Septicius' grandmother Artoria was a sister of M219's grandmother.
