Articles Badel, Christophe: "Fasti Severiani, étude sur le personnel administratif et politique de l'Empire romain de Caracalla à Sévère Alexandre (211-235)", thesis, Paris 1994
who proposes R120 is the grandson of R117 and Arria Magia and that his mother is a Viria, and makes him cos suff c.280
Chausson, Francois: "Les Egnatii et l'aristocratie italienne des IIe - IVe siècles", in Journal des savants. 1997, pp.211-331, especially pp. 236-256
believes the reading on the inscription for [Ar]ria Magia has room for two more letters possibly making her a [Tria]ria Magia
and that her husbonds full name was [M.Rubrenius] Q.Virius Larcius Sulpicius, and that R120's brother was
Q.Virius Egnatius Sulpicius Priscus. R120s suffect consulate he dates to c.230/235.
Christol: Carrieres Senatoriales pp.245-246 on R120.
Jacque, Francois.: Les Curateurs des cités dans l'Occident Romain de Trajan a Gallien", Paris 1983,
proposes that R120 was adopted by Q.Virius Egnatius Sulpicius Priscus, a Patrician.
Settipani: Continuite Gentilice pp.402-405 summarizes the various scenarios proposed concerning R120's descent,
but is not convinced by Chausson and prefers that R120's mother was a Viria Magia, daughter of
Q.Virius Egnatius Sulåicius Priscus, putting R120's suffect consulate to c.255-260.
